Ask who mills it and what the warranty covers — before the chair

Trust questions belong on the written plan, not after the deposit. This page pairs with implant brand on the paper: brand, lab, and warranty are three lines you can read out loud. If any line is missing, you are not ready to sit.

This is a checklist — not a promise that any clinic’s warranty looks a certain way, and not an ADA membership claim. We invent nothing.

Who mills / pours — ask it plain

  1. Is the crown, bridge, or prosthesis milled in-house, at a partner lab in Tijuana, or sent farther?
  2. Who pours models / who stains / who fits the night before delivery?
  3. For implants: who supplies the abutment and the final? Same brand family or mix?
  4. Can the dentist show you the lab name on the plan or on a sticker after placement?
  5. If something fails in six months, does the same lab path remake it — or is that “case by case”?

“Premium lab” without a name is marketing. You want a name you can write down. Same rule as materials: zirconia vs acrylic, cement vs screw — on paper (questions before the chair).

What must be written on the warranty

Ask for these fields before you pay a deposit:

  1. Years — how many, from what start date (placement vs final delivery).
  2. What fails — implant fixture, abutment, prosthesis crack, shade mismatch, screw looseness.
  3. What is excluded — trauma, poor hygiene, grinding without a guard, unpaid balance, work done elsewhere.
  4. Who pays shipping / remake chair time if you live in the US.
  5. Who you call — clinic phone, after-hours rule, English-capable contact.
  6. Travel back — when a remake requires a Tijuana visit vs when a US dentist can send photos / X-rays first.

A verbal “we take care of you” is not a warranty. Get the sheet or the PDF with the plan. Aligns with how to choose and the written plan checklist.

If you live in the United States

Say it early: you sleep in California / Arizona / elsewhere, not next door to the clinic.

Ask:

US dental insurance (PPO out-of-network sometimes; HMO almost never) is a reimbursement question for your plan — pay the clinic first, keep the English invoice. That is not a warranty; keep the two topics separate on the paper.

Put it on the plan paper (print this block)

Copy these lines onto the quote before you sign anything:

Same asks from more than one written source before a large deposit. Deposit only after exam + imaging + this paper — not before.

What we will not claim here

After placement, keep asking: soft-food window, lot / sticker photo if allowed, when the final arrives if today was a temp — see questions after implants.

Lab timing vs your calendar

If the plan says same-day temps and later finals, ask how many lab days sit between those visits. That answer belongs next to the warranty block so you do not confuse a remake policy with a delivery schedule. Soft-food rules and who you call from California still go on the same sheet — see the after-implants list when surgery is involved.
